Projects in El Salvador, supported by the IAF, are centered on three main objectives: responding to the trend of communities directing their own development, facilitating and encouraging networks, and fostering learning opportunities.

FUNDESYRAM improves the income of women farmers and entrepreneurs in the departments of Ahuachapán and Sonsonate.


Centro Arte para la Paz gives the underprivileged youth the opportunity to produce documentaries on their local history and culture.


The Asociación de Desarrollo Comunal de la Isla de Méndez (ADESCOIM) works with residents of Isla de Méndez, Usulután, on conservation and income-generation in the Jiquilisco Biosphere Reserve.


MARÍAS 93 is an organic coffee producers' cooperative offering training and technical assistance for its members to improve the quality of their coffee, strengthen their organization and ensure environmentally responsible agricultural methods.


Elmer Arias, founder and president of Fundacion para la Educacion Social, Economica y Cultural (FUPEC) recognized by the Salvadoran Embassy.


FUPEC works with Salvadoran hometown associations in the United States giving alternatives in the use of the funds which are sent to El Salvador, creating better economic opportunities.


Immigrants in the U.S. are pooling and investing their resources to improve their home communities in El Salvador and beyond.
